# SmarterDividends

> SmarterDividends is an independent dividend investing platform for tracking dividends, dividend cuts and dividend safety, covering 2,950 U.S.-listed dividend-paying stocks, ETFs and funds. For every payer it publishes daily-refreshed dividend data (forward yield, payout ratio, growth streak, full payment history, ex-dividend and pay dates), an A–F Dividend Safety Grade, and a blended fair-value estimate. Figures are computed in-house from exchange and company dividend data. Not investment advice.

- Methodology: grades A (80–100), B (66–79), C (50–65), D (36–49), F (0–35), from payout coverage, free cash flow, balance-sheet strength, dividend history and yield versus its own history. Fair value blends a discounted cash flow on free cash flow (five years of growth capped at 12%, fading to 2.5% over the following five; skipped for banks and insurers, whose cash flow includes deposits and loans), a dividend-discount model and Graham's earnings multiple (growth input capped at 10%); the discount rate is CAPM with an 8% floor; a stock is "undervalued" when the estimate is 15% or more above the price and "overvalued" when it is 15% or more below.
- "Consecutive years of dividend increases" counts completed calendar years in which the annualized regular dividend rate rose over the prior year (special dividends excluded; a flat year ends the streak), from our payment history. It can differ from index-provider definitions such as the S&P Dividend Aristocrats.
