Amphenol Cuts Dividend Per Share After Two-for-One Split
Amphenol’s quarterly dividend fell 50% to $0.125 per share following a stock split, leaving the payout’s underlying economics unchanged.
APH — Amphenol CorporationAmphenol Corporation cut its stated quarterly dividend to $0.125 per share from $0.25, a 50% reduction, with an ex-dividend date of September 22, 2026. The change, however, reflects a two-for-one stock split rather than a reduction in the cash distributed for an equivalent pre-split holding.
The company’s board approved the split in the form of a stock dividend and specified that the $0.25 quarterly distribution would become $0.125 per share after the split. Each pre-split share was paired with one additional share, offsetting the lower per-share payment, according to Amphenol’s announcement.
A mechanical adjustment
For an investor who held one share before the split, the position became two shares. At $0.125 per share, those two shares generate $0.25 in quarterly cash — the same amount previously associated with one share at the $0.25 rate. On that basis, the event is a nominal per-share cut caused by the larger share count, not an economic reduction in the dividend for a comparable holding.
Amphenol enters the event with 14 consecutive years of dividend growth. Its annual dividend is $0.50 per share on the post-split basis, producing a forward annual yield of 0.6% at a share price of $82.19. The dividend carries a safety score of 92 and an A grade under the supplied methodology.
The company has described dividend growth as part of a broader record that also includes sales growth, operating-margin expansion and free-cash-flow generation in its 2025 annual report. Amphenol designs and manufactures connectors, interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and specialized cable used across automotive, aerospace, communications, defense, industrial and data-communications markets, according to the company announcement.
What it means for income investors
Income investors should compare Amphenol’s dividend history on a split-adjusted basis. The headline 50% decline in the per-share rate does not, by itself, reduce the quarterly cash attached to an equivalent pre-split stake. The relevant ongoing figures are the post-split quarterly rate of $0.125, the $0.50 annualized dividend and the 0.6% forward yield. Future distributions remain subject to board approval.
