RGA — Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated
Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated increased its quarterly dividend to $0.98 per share from $0.93, a 5.38% rise. The increase extends the financial-services company’s record of annual dividend growth to 16 consecutive years.
Shares traded ex-dividend on Aug. 18, 2026. Based on the new rate, RGA’s annualized dividend is $3.92 per share, equating to a forward yield of 1.61% at a share price of $243.13.
The higher payout accompanied RGA’s second-quarter results. The life and health reinsurer said it delivered a record quarter, supported by results across its regions and business lines. Chief Executive Tony Cheng said claims experience was modestly favorable to expectations, while investment returns benefited from disciplined execution and a favorable market backdrop. Management also emphasized its selective approach to deploying capital into opportunities offering attractive risk-adjusted returns. RGA’s second-quarter results
RGA helps insurers manage mortality, morbidity, longevity and other risks through reinsurance and financial solutions. That business model makes underwriting discipline, claims trends, investment performance and capital management important considerations for the company’s capacity to return cash to shareholders.
The company’s annual filing notes that future dividends remain at the board’s discretion and depend on earnings, capital requirements, operating conditions and insurance regulation. RGA’s capacity to distribute cash also depends partly on dividends received from its regulated insurance subsidiaries, which are subject to statutory limitations. RGA’s annual report
What it means for income investors
The increase raises RGA’s recurring annual dividend income while preserving the company’s established quarterly schedule. The 16-year growth streak indicates continuity in annual increases, though it does not guarantee future raises or payments.
RGA carries a dividend safety score of 93 out of 100, corresponding to an A grade. Combined with the 1.61% forward yield, the figures characterize the shares as offering a comparatively modest current income stream with a strong assessed safety profile. As with any insurer, however, future distributions remain subject to board approval, operating performance and regulatory capital constraints.
