Intuit Inc. raised its quarterly dividend 15.0% to $1.38 per share from $1.20. The most recent payment went ex-dividend on October 8, 2026, and the new rate equates to an annual dividend of $5.52 per share.

Why the dividend changed

The board approved the higher payout alongside Intuit’s fourth-quarter and full-year fiscal 2026 results. The increase was part of the software company’s established capital-allocation program, rather than the result of a stock split, merger or spinoff. Intuit says it returns excess operating cash through dividends and share repurchases after accounting for operating and strategic requirements. The fiscal 2026 annual report also says existing liquidity and access to financing are expected to cover working capital, investment and debt-service needs.

The operating backdrop supported the decision. Fourth-quarter and full-year revenue each grew 14%, while management attributed the expansion to its strategic growth initiatives. Intuit entered fiscal 2027 expecting further revenue growth across its major businesses, although its outlook incorporated slower growth in TurboTax than in Global Business Solutions and Credit Karma. The fiscal 2026 results release also showed that share repurchases remained the larger component of capital returns.

Capital discipline remains part of the context. Earlier in fiscal 2026, Intuit announced a workforce reduction intended to simplify its organization and make it faster and more focused. Chief Financial Officer Sandeep Aujla said the company’s capital-allocation framework balances investment in its strategic priorities with share repurchases and dividend growth. The third-quarter results also included an increase in full-year revenue guidance.

Dividend track record

The increase extends Intuit’s dividend-growth streak to 14 consecutive years. Its five-year dividend growth rate is 14.4% annual growth, placing the latest 15.0% increase close to its recent pace.

The annual payment record shows a consistent pattern of increases. Total dividends rose from $2.18 per share in 2020 to $2.45 in 2021, an increase of 12.4%. They then advanced 15.1% to $2.82 in 2022, 14.9% to $3.24 in 2023, 15.4% to $3.74 in 2024 and 15.5% to $4.32 in 2025.

Recent quarterly payments show how Intuit implements those annual increases. The company paid $1.04 per share for the first three listed quarters of 2025, followed by $1.20 on the October 9, 2025 ex-dividend date. It maintained $1.20 for the January 9, April 9 and July 9, 2026 ex-dividend dates before moving to $1.38 on October 8, 2026. The pattern is one annual step-up followed by three quarters at the same rate.

Is the dividend covered?

The dividend consumes 29% of earnings. That leaves most reported earnings available for reinvestment, acquisitions, debt service and share repurchases, providing a meaningful buffer before the dividend would absorb the majority of profit.

SmarterDividends rates the dividend A, with a safety score of 85. That falls in the very safe range of 80 to 100. The grade reflects strong coverage and the established growth record, although any future declaration remains subject to board approval.

Yield and valuation

At a share price of $325.15, Intuit’s annual dividend of $5.52 produces a 1.70% forward yield. That exceeds the Technology sector median forward yield of 1.38%. An investor holding 100 shares would receive $552.00 in annual dividend income at the current rate.

The shares have recorded a 48.7% loss over one year, which is important context for the current yield and valuation. SmarterDividends estimates fair value at $418.57 and classifies the shares as undervalued, corresponding to 29% upside to that estimate. The fair-value comparison is a valuation snapshot, not a forecast of the share price.

What to watch

The next operating checkpoint is Intuit’s first-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings report. The company’s investor-relations calendar lists the associated webcast, while management reaffirmed its first-quarter and full-year guidance at its September 17, 2026 investor day. The report will provide the first results under Intuit’s revised segment presentation, which separates Mailchimp from Global Business Solutions.

Investors can also monitor Intuit’s pending acquisition of Sequence, an AI-native revenue-management platform intended to expand Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced. Financial terms were not disclosed, and Intuit said Sequence’s capabilities would become available after the transaction closes. The acquisition announcement makes the transaction and its integration another call on capital alongside dividends, repurchases and internal investment. The next board dividend declaration will establish the next ex-dividend and payment dates.
