How this calendar works

For every U.S. dividend stock with steady regular payments, SmarterDividends finds the first higher dividend of each of the last five complete years and the month it was declared. If the same month comes up at least three times, the company goes on that month's list.

Companies that raise several times a year, raise irregularly, or pay variable amounts (funds, royalty trusts, many foreign companies) are left out. The table on each month's page shows how many of the five years matched, the last raise and its size, and whether this year's raise has arrived.

Why isn't a company I own on the calendar?

It may raise several times a year (such as Realty Income), raise irregularly, have fewer than three raises in the last five years, or be a fund or foreign company whose payments change with exchange rates.

A raise month describes past timing, not a promise of a future raise. For information only, not investment advice.
