Landstar System Raises Quarterly Dividend 10%
Landstar System increased its quarterly dividend to $0.44 per share, extending its dividend-growth streak to 11 consecutive years.
LSTR — Landstar System, Inc.
Landstar System, Inc. (NASDAQ: LSTR) raised its quarterly dividend to $0.44 per share from $0.40, an increase of 10%. The shares had an ex-dividend date of Aug. 18, 2026.
The higher payout lifts the transportation and logistics company’s annualized dividend to $1.76 per share. At a share price of $186.58, that represents a forward annual yield of 0.94%.
The increase extends Landstar’s record of consecutive annual dividend growth to 11 years. The company carries a dividend safety score of 90 out of 100 and an A safety grade, indicating a strong assessment of the payout’s durability based on the supplied safety metrics.
Landstar did not attribute the dividend increase to a single factor. The decision was announced alongside its second-quarter results, when management described the freight transportation backdrop as “rapidly improving” and reported stronger revenue, earnings and profitability compared with the prior-year period. Landstar’s second-quarter earnings release also said the board intends to continue paying dividends quarterly, although future declarations remain subject to board approval.
The company describes itself as a technology-enabled, asset-light provider of freight transportation and logistics services. Its model relies on independent sales agents and third-party capacity providers to arrange freight across several transportation modes, primarily in North America, according to its quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Landstar’s official dividend history shows a pattern of regular quarterly distributions alongside occasional special dividends. Special payments are separate from the recurring quarterly rate and are not included in the $1.76 forward annual dividend.
What it means for income investors
The increase adds $0.04 per share to each regular quarterly payment and $0.16 per share to the annualized regular payout. The 0.94% forward yield remains modest compared with many income-oriented equities, making the 11-year growth streak and A safety grade more notable than the current level of income. As with any dividend, future payments are not guaranteed and require board approval.
