Global Partners Raises Quarterly Distribution 1.96%
Global Partners increased its quarterly distribution to $0.78 per unit, extending its growth streak to five consecutive years.
GLP — Global Partners LPGlobal Partners LP raised its quarterly cash distribution to $0.78 per unit from $0.765, an increase of 1.96%. The energy partnership’s units traded ex-distribution on Aug. 10, 2026.
At the new rate, the distribution annualizes to $3.12 per unit. That represents a forward annual yield of 6.37% based on a unit price of $48.98. Global Partners’ board declared the distribution for its outstanding common units, according to the company’s announcement.
The increase extends Global Partners’ record of distribution growth to five consecutive years. That history is relatively short because the partnership previously reduced its payout in 2020, an important point of context when assessing the current streak.
Global Partners is a master limited partnership, or MLP, rather than a conventional corporation. Investors therefore own units and receive cash distributions rather than corporate dividends. The partnership says this structure generally avoids entity-level federal and state income taxation, with income instead taxed at the investor level. Its investor FAQ provides additional details about the distinction.
Business context
The distribution increase followed a quarter in which management reported strong contributions across all operating segments. Chief Executive Eric Slifka said the breadth of the partnership’s liquid-energy platform helped it perform in a dynamic market and that asset quality and balance-sheet strength provided flexibility. The company did not attribute the distribution increase to a single operating factor. Global Partners’ second-quarter results provide the broader financial and management context.
The partnership operates an integrated network of liquid-energy terminals, wholesale distribution operations and retail fueling locations. Its exposure spans petroleum products, renewable fuels, convenience stores and logistics services, leaving results sensitive to fuel demand, commodity-market conditions and operating margins.
What it means for income investors
The higher rate increases quarterly cash income by $0.015 per unit and maintains the partnership’s five-year growth streak. The 6.37% forward yield is based on the stated $48.98 unit price and will fluctuate as the market price changes.
Global Partners carries a dividend-safety score of 62 out of 100, corresponding to a C grade. That assessment indicates a middle-range payout profile rather than a guarantee of future distributions. Investors evaluating the income stream should also account for the partnership structure and the prior 2020 reduction.
