Horizon Kinetics Holding Corporation (OTCQX: HKHC) increased its quarterly dividend to $0.13 per share from $0.127, a 2.36% rise. The ex-dividend date is Aug. 26, 2026.

The higher payout lifts the annualized dividend to $0.52 per share. At a share price of $25.90, that represents a forward annual yield of 2.01%. The increase gives the financial-services company one consecutive year of dividend growth.

Operating context

Horizon Kinetics operates through a wholly owned registered investment adviser and offers strategies through mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, separately managed accounts and private investment vehicles. The company describes its investment approach as fundamental, value-oriented and contrarian. Its annual report says the board’s expected quarterly dividend policy is based on quarterly performance, while allowing directors to consider other relevant factors. The company also says it generally expects common-stock dividends to be aligned with a portion of quarterly operating earnings after current income taxes.

The increase accompanied Horizon Kinetics’ second-quarter results. Management and advisory fee revenue was $18.8 million, unchanged from the prior-year quarter, as a 30% increase in exchange-traded-fund revenue and 8.6% growth from separately managed accounts were offset in part by lower mutual-fund revenue. Assets under management reached $10.8 billion, up 12.1% from the end of 2025. The company’s earnings release attributed much of that increase to appreciation in Texas Pacific Land, partly offset by declines in bitcoin-related holdings.

Horizon Kinetics nevertheless recorded a second-quarter net loss attributable to the company of $18.4 million. Its report showed that investment holdings and private-fund interests can introduce substantial fluctuations around the performance of the underlying advisory business.

What it means for income investors

The increase provides a modestly higher quarterly cash distribution and continues the company’s short dividend-growth record. The stated 2.01% forward yield assumes the $0.13 quarterly rate remains unchanged and is based on the $25.90 share price; the market yield will vary as the stock price changes. Future declarations remain subject to board approval and the company’s performance-based dividend policy.
