Mid Penn Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: MPB) increased its quarterly cash dividend to $0.23 per share from $0.22, a 4.55% rise. The ex-dividend date was Aug. 3, 2026.

The new rate equates to an annual dividend of $0.92 per share. Based on a share price of $36.65, the forward annual yield is 2.49%.

Earnings and acquisitions support the increase

The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based parent of Mid Penn Bank and MPB Financial Services linked the board’s decision to what management described as solid second-quarter operating performance. Mid Penn reported higher net income available to common shareholders, expansion in its net interest margin and an improved core efficiency ratio. Management said the earnings comparison benefited from the William Penn and 1st Colonial acquisitions, while lower funding costs and higher loan and investment-security yields helped the margin. Mid Penn’s second-quarter earnings release

The 1st Colonial transaction closed in February and expanded Mid Penn’s loan portfolio and deposit base. The company’s latest quarterly filing also identifies Mid Penn Bank as its principal banking subsidiary and notes that the group provides commercial banking, consumer lending, trust and wealth-management services. The increase establishes a one-year dividend-growth streak. Mid Penn previously reduced its dividend in 2021, meaning the recent rise represents a renewed step upward rather than the extension of a long annual-growth record. The company has nevertheless continued making quarterly distributions since that reduction.

What it means for income investors

At the new quarterly rate, shareholders receive an annualized $0.92 per share, assuming the dividend remains unchanged. The 2.49% forward yield reflects the stated $36.65 share price and will fluctuate as the market price changes.

Mid Penn carries a dividend safety score of 70 and a B safety grade. Those measures indicate a comparatively solid current dividend profile, but they do not guarantee future payments. The board retains discretion over each distribution, while earnings, credit quality, capital requirements and acquisition integration remain relevant considerations for the regional bank’s capacity to maintain or raise its payout.
