THOR Industries raised its quarterly dividend 3.9% to $0.54 per share from $0.52. The shares went ex-dividend on October 27, 2026, and the payment is due November 10, 2026.

Why the dividend changed

THOR’s dividend announcement disclosed the board’s approval but gave no specific explanation for the increase. The latest results provide the relevant context: THOR is maintaining shareholder distributions through a difficult recreational-vehicle cycle while using its balance sheet to reduce debt, repurchase shares and restructure operations.

Fiscal 2026 net sales were $9.61 billion, little changed from the prior year, but net income attributable to THOR fell to $177.5 million from $258.6 million. Gross profit margin narrowed to 12.6% from 14.0%. Management attributed the pressure to soft retail demand, affordability concerns, higher material costs and promotional activity, particularly in North America, according to the company’s fiscal 2026 results.

THOR nevertheless reduced debt by $59.7 million and repurchased $115.1 million of shares during the fiscal year. Chief Financial Officer Colleen Zuhl said the company’s capital deployment reflected confidence in its financial position and that balance-sheet strength allowed it to pursue restructuring without compromising financial stability. The dividend increase is consistent with that capital-allocation stance, even as weaker earnings have reduced the cushion supporting the payment.

Management is reorganizing THOR’s North American RV operations, expanding enterprise purchasing and increasing the contribution from owned suppliers. The company said those measures are intended to lower its cost base and improve earnings power. Europe supplied some diversification during fiscal 2026, while the North American towable business remained pressured by lower shipments and cautious dealer ordering.

Dividend track record

The latest increase extends THOR’s dividend-growth streak to 16 consecutive years. The quarterly rate was $0.50 for the first three recorded payments of 2025, increased to $0.52 for the October 23, 2025, ex-dividend date and remained there for the next three payments. The October 27, 2026, payment record begins the new $0.54 rate.

Annual payments rose from $1.62 per share in 2020 to $1.68 in 2021, $1.76 in 2022 and $1.86 in 2023. Those increases ranged from 3.7% to 5.7%. The 2024 history contains three recorded payments totaling $1.46, producing a 21.5% decline in the recorded annual total, but the quarterly sequence does not show a dividend cut. Four payments in 2025 totaled $2.02, up 38.4% from that three-payment comparison.

The five-year dividend-growth rate is 4.3% annual growth. The latest 3.9% increase is therefore broadly consistent with THOR’s recent pattern of measured annual raises rather than a sharp change in distribution policy.

Is the dividend covered?

The dividend consumes 62% of earnings. That leaves an earnings cushion, but it also means coverage has become more sensitive to the RV industry’s cyclical downturn and THOR’s compressed margins.

SmarterDividends rates the dividend A, with a safety score of 88. That grade means the dividend is considered very safe within the scoring range of 80-100. The assessment reflects a continuing earnings cushion and the established growth record, while the latest operating results make margin recovery, cash generation and capital allocation important checks on that rating.

Yield and valuation

THOR’s annualized dividend is $2.16 per share, equal to $216.00 of annual income for every 100 shares. At a share price of $70.44, the forward yield is 3.08%, above the Consumer Cyclical sector median of 2.54%.

SmarterDividends estimates fair value at $54.90 and classifies the shares as overvalued, implying 22% downside to fair value. The stock’s 33.6% loss over the past year has raised the yield, but the market price remains above that estimate.

What to watch

The immediate milestone is the November 10, 2026, payment. THOR has not established another ex-dividend date.

Operating attention now shifts to fiscal 2027 guidance and the next quarterly report. Management said it expected a relatively flat retail environment compared with fiscal 2026 and planned to provide annual guidance after gathering dealer feedback. It also said strategic and restructuring initiatives could improve the annual earnings profile by more than $100 million once fully implemented.

Investors can monitor North American retail demand, promotional activity, material costs and gross margins for evidence that coverage is stabilizing. Dealer inventories entered fiscal 2027 at what THOR described as healthy levels, but management said the RV industry remained in an extended down cycle. Debt reduction, share repurchases and restructuring spending will also show how the dividend fits within the company’s broader capital-allocation priorities.
