Sharesight Alternatives: 7 Picks for U.S. Dividend Investors (2026)

By SmarterDividends Team · November 6, 2026 · Updated November 6, 2026

Sharesight alternatives make the most sense for U.S. investors who care more about the dividends themselves than about performance and tax reporting. As of November 2026, Sharesight is free for 10 holdings, then $7, $18 or $23.25 a month billed annually, and its strengths are tax reports, multi-currency performance and automatic dividend recording across many markets. If you want dividend safety grades and cut alerts, SmarterDividends Pro ($99 a year) is the closest fit; for broker sync and a dividend calendar, Snowball Analytics; for linked accounts and a safety score, Track Your Dividends.

If you hold shares in several countries or need tax reports, Sharesight is probably still your best option, and we say so below.

What Sharesight does well

Sharesight is a performance and tax reporting tool first. It values portfolios across currencies and handles international holdings, which makes it a strong fit for anyone holding shares in more than one market.

For dividends, it records payments and adjustments automatically on every plan, including Free. Trades can come in from confirmation emails (on all plans), through supported broker integrations, or from a spreadsheet. Every paid plan includes tax reports such as Taxable Income, and Standard and Premium add a Future Income report, multi-currency valuation, contribution analysis and a Xero integration. The mobile app is free for all users.

Sharesight pricing

As of November 6, 2026, Sharesight's U.S. pricing page lists the plans below, in USD. "Prices in USD. Taxes may apply." Annual billing saves about 25%.

PlanBilled annuallyBilled monthlyPortfoliosHoldingsCustom groups
Free$0$0110 (including closed)1
Starter$7/mo$9.33/mo130 (including closed)3
Standard$18/mo$24/mo4Unlimited5
Premium$23.25/mo$31/mo10Unlimited10

Sharesight's investor pricing pages don't mention a free trial. The free plan is how you try it.

Why U.S. dividend investors look elsewhere

The reasons tend to be specific:

  • The holdings caps count closed positions. A long-time investor who has sold a lot of positions can outgrow Free's 10 or Starter's 30 faster than expected.
  • The dividend forecast (Future Income) starts at Standard, $18 a month billed annually.
  • If you invest only through U.S. brokers, you already receive a Form 1099-DIV each year, so Sharesight's tax reports may matter less to you than they would to someone with foreign holdings.
  • Sharesight's plans are built around performance and tax reporting. They don't advertise dividend safety ratings or alerts when a company cuts its dividend.

SmarterDividends

SmarterDividends is our own product, an independent dividend research site with a tracker. It doesn't do what Sharesight does best, and it isn't trying to. It answers a different question: how safe is each dividend you own, and what changed this week?

As of November 6, 2026, a free account tracks up to 10 holdings in one portfolio. Pro costs $99 a year (annual only), with a 7-day free trial and no credit card, and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Pro adds unlimited holdings, up to 10 portfolios combined, an A–F Dividend Safety Grade on every holding, email alerts the day a holding raises, cuts, suspends or declares a special dividend, fair-value crossing alerts, a 12-month income forecast and bulk CSV datasets.

The research is free without an account: pages for 8,000+ U.S. stocks, ETFs and funds, dividend history back to 1970 where records exist, an ex-dividend calendar, a dividend raise calendar, fair-value estimates, and the A–F grade on every graded stock's public page. You can filter by grade in the dividend screener or start from the safest dividend stocks list.

We also publish how the grades perform. Every dividend cut is logged against the grade the company held beforehand at our safety track record, misses included. As of November 6, 2026, only 8% of graded dividend stocks are rated D or F, yet 52% of the cuts recorded since April 2026 came from companies graded D or F beforehand.

The limitations, plainly: there is no automatic broker sync (you paste holdings or upload a brokerage CSV export), no tax reports, no performance reporting in Sharesight's sense, and our data covers U.S.-listed securities.

Pick it if your portfolio is U.S. dividend stocks and you want safety grades and cut alerts more than tax reports.

Snowball Analytics

Snowball Analytics is the closest like-for-like tracker to Sharesight on this list, with a stronger dividend focus. As of November 6, 2026, it has a free plan, then Starter at $79.99 a year, Investor at $149.99 a year and Expert at $249.99 a year (monthly: $7.99, $14.99 and $24.99). Paid plans have a 14-day trial with no credit card.

It does several things well for dividend investors: automatic sync with 1,000+ brokers through Plaid, Yodlee and SnapTrade from Starter up, a dividend calendar on every plan, a month-by-month income forecast, custom withholding tax settings, and a dividend rating from Starter up that ranks financial health and payout ratio. iOS and Android apps include home screen widgets.

The limitation: Snowball lists no tax report, the free plan has no automatic sync, and multiple portfolios start at Investor. Our Snowball Analytics alternatives guide covers each plan.

Pick it if you want broker sync and a dividend calendar and don't need tax reports.

Track Your Dividends

Track Your Dividends is a U.S.-priced dividend tracker built on linked accounts. As of November 6, 2026, there is a free plan, and Premium costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial for everyone.

Accounts link through SnapTrade or Plaid and update daily: one on Free, unlimited on Premium. Free includes basic dividend alerts, an upcoming dividend calendar and future value projections. Premium adds the TYD Dividend Safety Score and hand-picked dividend alerts.

The limitation: the free plan has ads and one linked account, and there's no native app.

Pick it if you want linked accounts and a safety score for about $100 a year.

Simply Safe Dividends

Simply Safe Dividends is the premium option for dividend safety research. As of November 6, 2026, it costs $468 a year (annual only), with a 14-day free trial and no credit card, and a 60-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers.

Its Dividend Safety Scores cover stocks and closed-end funds and come with analyst research. The company says, "Since 2015, our Dividend Safety Scores have avoided 97% of dividend cuts." It also offers an income calendar and forecast, unlimited portfolios, alerts for dividend changes, screeners, S&P credit ratings, and daily brokerage sync or spreadsheet import, according to its own posts.

The limitation is mainly price, plus no free plan and no native mobile app (it runs as a home screen web app). We compare it in detail in Simply Safe Dividends alternatives.

Pick it if you want analyst judgment on dividend safety and the price doesn't matter much.

DivTracker

DivTracker is an iPhone and iPad app for dividend income. As of November 6, 2026, there is a free plan, Pro at $29.99 a year ($4.99 monthly) and Ultimate at $49.99 a year ($6.99 monthly), with a 3-day trial on Ultimate.

It shows dividend and ex-dividend calendars on all plans, upcoming payments with confirmed amounts, estimates for payments not yet declared, and income that adjusts when a company cuts or suspends. Ultimate's plan description mentions linking U.S. brokerage accounts.

The limitation: iOS only (we found no Android app on its site), and the free plan stops at 5 holdings.

Pick it if you want a cheap dividend calendar on your iPhone and nothing more.

Empower Personal Dashboard

Empower's dashboard and financial tools are free, as of November 6, 2026, and link all your financial accounts for a net worth view, with retirement planning, budgeting and portfolio allocation tools.

It isn't a dividend tool. We found no dividend calendar, forecast or safety data in its pages, and investment income shows up as one line. Signing up also opts you into marketing calls from Empower's advisory arm.

Pick it if you want one free view of everything you own, and track dividends somewhere else.

A spreadsheet

A spreadsheet is the cheapest Sharesight alternative and the most work. In Google Sheets, the GOOGLEFINANCE function returns no dividend, yield or ex-dividend data, so you enter payments yourself. Our dividend history pages and our ex-dividend dates list make that quicker, and the dividend tracker spreadsheet guide shows a layout. For modeling future income, the dividend calculator and a DRIP calculator are free.

How we compared

We weighed each tool on what a U.S. dividend investor leaving Sharesight would want: dividend calendar and forecast, safety ratings, cut alerts, broker sync or import, holdings and portfolio limits, tax reports, and price.

Every price and plan limit came from the vendor's own pricing or feature pages, checked on November 6, 2026. If a vendor didn't state something, we left it out. This compares published plans and features, not a long-term hands-on test of each app.

SmarterDividends is our own product. We've tried to be clear about where Sharesight is stronger: tax reports, multi-currency performance and international holdings.

Which one should you pick?

  • If you need tax reports or hold shares in several currencies, stay with Sharesight.
  • If you want A–F safety grades and an email the day a holding cuts, pick SmarterDividends Pro.
  • If you want broker sync and a dividend calendar, pick Snowball Analytics.
  • If you want linked accounts and a safety score for about $100 a year, pick Track Your Dividends.
  • If you want analyst safety research and will pay for it, pick Simply Safe Dividends.
  • If you want a cheap iPhone app, pick DivTracker.
  • If you want nothing to pay, use a spreadsheet with SmarterDividends' free data.

For a broader comparison, see our best dividend tracker page, or read the best way to track dividends if you are still choosing between an app and a spreadsheet.
