Snowball Analytics Alternatives: 8 Options Compared (2026)
By SmarterDividends Team · November 6, 2026 · Updated November 6, 2026
Snowball Analytics alternatives are worth a look if Snowball's price tiers, missing safety grades or lack of tax reports don't suit you. As of November 2026, Snowball is free for 1 portfolio and 10 holdings, then $79.99, $149.99 or $249.99 a year. The best alternative depends on the gap: SmarterDividends ($99 a year for Pro) for dividend safety grades and cut alerts, Sharesight for tax reports, DivTracker or Stock Events for a cheap phone app, and a spreadsheet if you want no subscription at all.
Snowball is one of the better dividend trackers around, so this isn't a list of reasons to leave. It's a guide to when something else fits better.

Snowball Analytics pricing, plan by plan
Snowball has four plans. As of November 6, 2026, the annual prices come from its pricing page, and the monthly prices from its dividend tracker page (they match the stated "16% off, 2 months free" annual discount).
| Plan | Annual | Monthly | Portfolios | Holdings | Watchlists | Broker sync |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 | 10 | 1 | No (broker report import) |
| Starter | $79.99 | $7.99 | 1 | Unlimited | 2 | Yes |
| Investor | $149.99 | $14.99 | 10 | Unlimited | 10 | Yes |
| Expert | $249.99 | $24.99 | Unlimited | Unlimited | 20 | Yes |
The free plan also includes 1 custom holding and has no time limit. Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial and no credit card, though only 2 portfolios can be added during the trial.
A couple of details are easy to miss. Starter removes the holdings cap but keeps you at one portfolio, so a household with a taxable account, an IRA and a spouse's account needs Investor at $149.99. And alerts step up by plan: Starter gets weekly summary emails and push notifications for key dividend events, while Investor and Expert add email notifications for dividend events.
What Snowball Analytics is great at
Snowball's strongest point is getting your holdings in without typing them. Starter and up sync automatically with 1,000+ brokers through Plaid, Yodlee and SnapTrade, and every plan can import broker reports, with CSV or Excel import for brokers it doesn't support.
For dividend investors specifically, it has a dividend calendar on all plans, a month-by-month income forecast, custom withholding tax settings, and a dividend rating on Starter and up that ranks financial health and payout ratio to flag vulnerable payouts. The iOS and Android apps include home screen widgets. With up to 10 portfolios on Investor and unlimited on Expert, it handles multi-account analytics better than most trackers in this list.
When to look elsewhere
People tend to look for Snowball Analytics alternatives for one of four reasons:
- The tiers. Broker sync starts at $79.99 a year and multiple portfolios at $149.99, which adds up if you only want a few features.
- You want a dividend safety grade with a public track record, and email the day a holding cuts its dividend.
- You want simple free tracking and the 10-holding free plan with no sync isn't enough, or is more app than you need.
- You need tax reports. Snowball lists custom withholding tax, but no tax report.
Each alternative below solves at least one of these.
SmarterDividends
SmarterDividends is our own product: an independent dividend research site with a portfolio tracker attached. We put it first because it covers the safety-grade gap directly, not because it beats Snowball at tracking. It doesn't.
As of November 6, 2026, a free account tracks up to 10 holdings in one portfolio. Pro costs $99 a year (annual only), with a 7-day free trial and no credit card, and a 14-day money-back guarantee. Pro adds unlimited holdings, up to 10 portfolios in a combined view, an A–F Dividend Safety Grade on every holding, email alerts the day a holding raises, cuts, suspends or declares a special dividend, fair-value crossing alerts, a 12-month income forecast and bulk CSV datasets.
What it does well for dividend investors is the research layer. Without an account you get research pages for 8,000+ U.S. stocks, ETFs and funds, dividend history back to 1970 where records exist, an ex-dividend calendar, a dividend raise calendar, fair-value estimates, a dividend screener and a value screener. We log every dividend cut against the grade the company held beforehand at our safety track record. As of November 6, 2026, only 8% of graded dividend stocks are rated D or F, yet 52% of the cuts recorded since April 2026 came from companies graded D or F beforehand.
The real limitation: there is no automatic brokerage sync. You paste tickers and share counts or upload a brokerage CSV export. If sync is the main reason you use Snowball, that matters.
Pick it if you want safety grades and cut alerts, either instead of Snowball or alongside it.
Sharesight
Sharesight is a portfolio tracker built for performance and tax reporting. As of November 6, 2026, it has a free plan, then Starter at $7 a month, Standard at $18 a month and Premium at $23.25 a month, billed annually. Monthly billing is $9.33, $24 and $31. Its investor-plan pricing pages don't mention a trial.
Its clearest advantage over Snowball is tax reporting: tax reports (including Taxable Income) come with every paid plan, while Snowball lists no tax report. Standard and Premium add multi-currency valuation, contribution analysis and a Xero integration. Dividends and adjustments are recorded automatically on all plans, and trades can be imported from confirmation emails or a spreadsheet.
The limitation is the holdings caps on the lower plans: 10 on Free and 30 on Starter, both counting closed positions. The Future Income report, Sharesight's dividend forecast, needs Standard or Premium. Our Sharesight alternatives piece covers it from the other side.
Pick it if tax reports or multi-currency performance matter more than dividend calendars.
Track Your Dividends
Track Your Dividends is a linked-account dividend tracker. As of November 6, 2026, there is a free plan, and Premium costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. Everyone gets a 7-day free trial.
Accounts link through SnapTrade or Plaid and update daily: one linked account on Free, unlimited on Premium. Free also includes unlimited manual portfolios, basic dividend alerts and future value projections. Premium adds the TYD Dividend Safety Score and hand-picked dividend alerts.
The limitation: the free plan shows ads and links only one account, and there's no native app; you add a home screen shortcut.
Pick it if you want broker linking and a safety score in one subscription at about $100 a year.
Stock Events
Stock Events is a mobile-first app built around an events feed of earnings, dividends and other dates. As of November 6, 2026, the free plan is always free, and Pro costs $49.99 a year with a 7-day trial. Broker sync is a separate Connect add-on at $0.99 a week.
Its Dividends tab shows annual, monthly and daily dividend income, yield and yield on cost. It runs on iOS, Android and the web.
The limitation is the free plan: it tracks 15 stocks in one watchlist (plus 5 per referral), and multiple portfolios are a Pro feature. Sync costs extra on top of Pro.
Pick it if you mostly check your portfolio on your phone and want a clean feed of upcoming events.
getquin
getquin is a European portfolio app with a social side. As of November 6, 2026, it shows prices in euros only: Free, Premium at €89.99 a year and Wealth at €149.99 a year, with no USD prices on its pricing page. Its pricing page has a "Try for free" button on paid plans but doesn't state a trial length.
The free plan is unusually generous on connections: unlimited bank and broker connections to "thousands of providers", plus CSV upload and manual entry, and the dividend calendar is free. It has native iOS and Android apps.
The limitation: long-term dividend forecasting is a Premium feature, and the euro-only pricing makes it a less natural fit for U.S. investors.
Pick it if you are based in Europe, or you want free broker connections and don't mind euro billing.
Digrin
Digrin is a dividend tracker popular with European investors. As of November 6, 2026, Explorer is free, Plus costs €4.17 a month billed annually (€7.99 monthly), and Pro costs €8.99 a month billed annually (€12.99 monthly). Prices are in euros only.
Its dividend calendar shows paid, announced and projected dividends: 6 months ahead on Explorer, 2 years on Plus and 10 years on Pro. It tracks yield on cost, dividend growth rate and XIRR, and estimates taxes (the free plan excludes the current year).
The limitation: automatic sync covers only Trading212 and Interactive Brokers. Everyone else, including Fidelity and Robinhood users, imports CSV files. Explorer is limited to 1 portfolio and 30 transactions a month. Digrin has no safety score; its screener filters by payout ratio instead. There's no native app, only a progressive web app.
Pick it if you use Trading212 or Interactive Brokers and want long dividend projections cheaply.
DivTracker
DivTracker is an iPhone and iPad dividend tracker. As of November 6, 2026, there is a free plan, Pro at $29.99 a year ($4.99 monthly) and Ultimate at $49.99 a year ($6.99 monthly), with a 3-day trial on Ultimate. Taxes are excluded.
It is good at the calendar side: dividend and ex-dividend calendars on all plans, upcoming dividends with confirmed amounts, estimates when a payment isn't declared yet, and income that adjusts when a company cuts or suspends its dividend. Ultimate's plan description mentions linking U.S. brokerage accounts.
The limitation: it is iOS only (we found no Android app on its site), and the free plan stops at 1 portfolio and 5 holdings. Data beyond that is hidden, not deleted, after the trial.
Pick it if you use an iPhone and want the cheapest paid dividend tracker on this list.
A spreadsheet
A spreadsheet is free, private and as flexible as your patience. The catch with Google Sheets is that the GOOGLEFINANCE function returns prices but no dividend, yield or ex-dividend data at all, so dividends have to be entered by hand or pulled from somewhere else. You can look up any payment in our dividend history pages, or pull the data through our free dividend API.
Our dividend tracker spreadsheet guide walks through a setup, and the best way to track dividends compares spreadsheets with apps.
Pick it if you have a small, stable portfolio and enjoy keeping your own records.
How we compared
We looked at what makes someone leave or skip Snowball: price per feature, broker sync, number of portfolios, dividend calendar and forecast, safety ratings, alerts, tax reports and mobile apps.
Every price and plan limit was checked on the vendor's own pricing or feature pages on November 6, 2026. Where a vendor didn't state a figure clearly, we left it out (for example, we don't quote a Stock Events monthly price because it wasn't visible on the page). This compares published plans and features; it isn't a hands-on test of each app.
SmarterDividends is our own product, and we've tried to say plainly where it falls short. Snowball is better than we are at broker sync and multi-portfolio analytics, and Sharesight is better at tax reports.
Which one should you pick?
- If you want broker sync across many accounts and the price works, stay with Snowball Analytics.
- If you want dividend safety grades and cut alerts, pick SmarterDividends Pro.
- If you need tax or multi-currency performance reports, pick Sharesight.
- If you want linked accounts plus a safety score for about $100 a year, pick Track Your Dividends.
- If you live on your phone, pick Stock Events, or DivTracker on an iPhone.
- If you are in Europe, look at getquin or Digrin.
- If you want no subscription, use a spreadsheet with SmarterDividends' free data.
