Boise Cascade Company raised its quarterly dividend to $0.23 per share from $0.22, an increase of 4.55%. The shares traded ex-dividend on Sept. 1, 2026.

The increase gives Boise Cascade, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BCC, one consecutive year of dividend growth. The supplied dividend data lists an annual dividend of $0.89 per share and a forward annual yield of 1.17%, based on a share price of $76.31.

Boise Cascade is a major U.S. wholesale distributor of building materials and a North American manufacturer of engineered wood products and plywood. Its integrated manufacturing and distribution operations provide exposure to new residential construction, repair-and-remodeling activity and light commercial construction. The company identifies single-family housing starts as the principal demand driver for its sales. Boise Cascade’s latest SEC-filed earnings release

Business backdrop

The dividend increase comes as Boise Cascade navigates an uneven residential-construction market. In its latest quarterly update, the company said affordability constraints, subdued consumer sentiment and volatile mortgage rates continued to pressure housing activity. Management nevertheless described longer-term construction fundamentals as constructive, citing an undersupplied housing market, substantial homeowner equity and an aging housing stock that supports repair-and-remodeling demand. The company also recently expanded its relationship with James Hardie, becoming the building-products maker’s sole nationwide distributor for a broader portfolio of exterior and outdoor products. Chief Executive Jeff Strom said Boise Cascade remained focused on gaining market share, improving efficiency and returning capital to shareholders. The company did not identify a specific operating development as the sole reason for the dividend increase.

What it means for income investors

The higher quarterly rate provides a modest increase in recurring cash income, while the 1.17% forward yield places the stock below the high-yield segment of the dividend market. Boise Cascade’s dividend safety score is 82 out of 100, corresponding to an A grade, although such a score is an assessment rather than a guarantee of future payments.

With only one consecutive year of dividend growth, the company does not yet have the lengthy record associated with established dividend-growth stocks. Future distributions will remain subject to board approval and the company’s earnings, cash requirements and conditions in construction-related markets.
