Best Free Dividend Tracker (2026): 10 Free Plans Compared

By SmarterDividends Team · November 6, 2026 · Updated November 6, 2026

The best free dividend tracker for most U.S. investors, as of November 2026, is one of three free plans that each allow one portfolio of 10 holdings: SmarterDividends (which adds free A–F safety grades and dividend research on 8,000+ stocks and funds), Snowball Analytics (free dividend calendar) or Sharesight (automatic dividend recording and a free mobile app). If you want your broker synced at no cost, getquin and Empower link accounts for free. If you own more than 10 stocks and won't pay, a Google Sheets spreadsheet has no holdings limit, and one free formula fills in the dividend data.

We compared only what each tool gives you without paying. All limits and prices below were checked on each vendor's own pricing page on November 6, 2026.

SmarterDividends (free account)

SmarterDividends is our own dividend research site. As of November 6, 2026, a free account tracks one portfolio of up to 10 holdings. You add them by pasting tickers and share counts or uploading your broker's CSV export. There's no automatic broker sync, so new trades mean another paste or upload.

The bigger free piece needs no account at all: research pages for 8,000+ U.S. stocks, ETFs and funds, A–F safety grades on every public stock page, dividend history back to 1970 where records exist, the ex-dividend calendar, the dividend raise calendar, the dividend screener, calculators, and a weekly list of every raise and cut.

The limitation: email alerts on raises and cuts, a safety grade shown on every holding, the 12-month income forecast and more than 10 holdings are part of Pro ($99 a year, 7-day trial with no card).

Pick it if you want to see how safe each dividend is without paying, and you can live without broker sync.

Snowball Analytics (free plan)

Snowball Analytics is a portfolio and dividend tracker with apps for iOS and Android. As of November 6, 2026, the free plan allows one portfolio, 10 holdings, one custom holding and one watchlist, with no time limit.

It includes the dividend calendar that Snowball offers on all plans, and you can import broker reports. That's a good free view of upcoming income.

The limitation is that automatic broker sync, alerts and Snowball's dividend rating start on the paid Starter plan ($79.99 a year or $7.99 a month).

Pick it if you want a polished mobile app and a dividend calendar for a small portfolio. More options are in our Snowball Analytics alternatives.

Sharesight (free plan)

Sharesight is a performance and tax-reporting tracker, strong on international and multi-currency holdings. As of November 6, 2026, the free plan covers one portfolio, 10 holdings including closed ones, and one custom group.

Dividends and adjustments are recorded automatically on every plan, trade confirmation emails can be imported, and the mobile app is free. Free users get the Performance and Sold Securities reports.

The limitation: no tax reports on free, and the Future Income report (Sharesight's dividend forecast) needs Standard at $18 a month billed annually. Closed positions count toward the 10.

Pick it if performance math matters more to you than dividend safety, and plan to pay later for tax reports.

Track Your Dividends (free plan)

Track Your Dividends is a web-based dividend tracker. As of November 6, 2026, its free plan links one account (via SnapTrade or Plaid), allows unlimited manual portfolios, and includes basic dividend alerts and future value projections. The pricing page doesn't state a holdings cap.

It is one of the few free plans here with any dividend alerts, and the one linked account updates daily.

The limitations: the free plan shows ads, there's no native mobile app (you add a home screen shortcut), and the TYD Dividend Safety Score is Premium only ($99.99 a year or $9.99 a month).

Pick it if you keep most of your dividend stocks at one broker and want that account linked for free.

Stock Events (free plan)

Stock Events is a mobile-first app built around an events feed of earnings and dividends, on iOS, Android and the web. As of November 6, 2026, the free plan tracks 15 stocks (plus 5 per referral) on one watchlist, with 5 AI messages per 24 hours.

Its Dividends tab shows annual, monthly and daily dividend income, yield and yield on cost, which is a clean way to see income on a phone. Pro adds what Stock Events calls Advanced Dividends.

The limitations: 15 stocks is tight, multiple portfolios are a Pro feature, and broker sync is the paid Connect add-on ($0.99 a week). Pro is $49.99 a year.

Pick it if you mostly check your income on your phone and own 15 stocks or fewer.

DivTracker (free plan)

DivTracker is an iPhone and iPad dividend app. As of November 6, 2026, the free plan allows one portfolio with 5 holdings. After the trial, data beyond that is hidden, not deleted.

The dividend calendar and ex-dividend calendar are on all plans, and the app adjusts income when a company cuts or suspends its dividend.

The limitations: 5 holdings is the smallest cap here, it's iOS only (we found no Android app on its site), and brokerage linking appears to be on the Ultimate plan. Pro is $29.99 a year, Ultimate $49.99.

Pick it if you're on an iPhone and starting with a handful of stocks.

getquin (free plan)

getquin is a European portfolio app with a social feed and net-worth tracking, on iOS, Android and the web. As of November 6, 2026, the free plan includes unlimited bank and broker connections, plus a free dividend tracker and dividend calendar. The pricing page doesn't state portfolio or holding caps.

Free unlimited connections are rare. If you have accounts at several brokers, that's the standout here.

The limitations: prices are in euros only, long-term dividend forecasting needs Premium (EUR 89.99 a year), and it lists no dividend safety score.

Pick it if broker connections are what you need free, especially if you invest from Europe.

Empower Personal Dashboard

Empower (formerly Personal Capital) offers a free dashboard that links all your financial accounts, with net worth, budgeting, retirement planning and portfolio analysis. As of November 6, 2026, the dashboard and tools are free.

Dividends show up as one income line, so you see what your accounts earned in a single place.

The limitation is that it isn't a dividend tool. Its pages show no dividend calendar, forecast or safety data, and signing up opts you into marketing calls from Empower's advisory arm.

Pick it for a free whole-household net-worth view, paired with a dividend-specific tool for the rest.

Yahoo Finance portfolios

Yahoo Finance lets you build portfolios with transactions and lots, and imports dividends automatically once you add a transaction. Its help pages don't say which portfolio features are free or what the limits are.

Quote pages show trailing and forward dividend rate and yield, which is handy for a quick check.

The limitations: no portfolio dividend calendar or income forecast that we could find, and Yahoo's dividend scores start at the Silver plan ($239.40 a year as of November 6, 2026). Bronze is $95.40 a year.

Pick it if you already live in Yahoo Finance and want dividends logged in a simple portfolio.

A spreadsheet with our free formula

A Google Sheets tracker costs nothing and has no holdings limit. The catch is data: Google's documentation for GOOGLEFINANCE lists no dividend, yield or ex-dividend attribute.

The free SmarterDividends API fills that gap. With a ticker in A2:

=IMPORTDATA("https://smarterdividends.com/api/v1/stocks/"&A2&"?format=csv&header=0")

That returns one row with the price, forward yield, annual dividend, frequency, next ex-date and pay date, payout ratio, growth streak, safety grade, fair value and as-of date. No API key, free with attribution (a link to smarterdividends.com). It refreshes about hourly, and Google limits the number of import calls per sheet.

The limitation: a sheet won't alert you to a cut or sync your trades. The full layout, formulas and a starter template are in our dividend tracker spreadsheet guide.

Pick it if you have more than 10 holdings, won't pay, and don't mind some setup.

What free plans usually leave out

Across these ten, the free tiers are generous with totals and calendars and stingy with protection. Alerts on cuts, safety ratings on every holding and full income forecasts are mostly paid features.

That matters, because cuts are concentrated. SmarterDividends data shows that only 8% of graded dividend stocks are rated D or F, yet 52% of the cuts recorded since April 2026 came from companies graded D or F beforehand (as of November 6, 2026). We publish every cut against the grade the company held before it, misses included, in our safety track record.

You can get most of that check for free without any tracker: look up each holding's grade on its public stock page, browse the safest dividend stocks, and read the weekly list of raises and cuts. Our free weekly newsletter sums up the week's changes too.

How we compared

We looked only at free plans and judged them on five things: the holdings limit, how holdings get in (sync, import or typing), whether you see income by month and upcoming dates, whether there's any safety rating or cut warning, and what the first paid plan costs. Every figure was checked on the vendor's own pricing or help pages on November 6, 2026. We haven't hands-on tested competitor apps; we report what they publish.

SmarterDividends is our product. Where another free plan fits better (getquin or Empower for free broker connections, Sharesight for performance reporting), we say so.
