California BanCorp (NASDAQ: BCAL) increased its quarterly dividend to $0.12 per share from $0.10, a 20% rise. The shares traded ex-dividend on Sept. 21, 2026.

At the supplied share price of $21.51, the new rate equates to an annual dividend of $0.48 per share and a forward yield of 2.2%. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $691.6 million.

The increase was initially disclosed alongside California BanCorp’s second-quarter results. The bank holding company reported stronger earnings, loan growth and improved credit quality during the period. Chairman and Chief Executive David Rainer highlighted those developments, including a reduction in nonperforming assets relative to total assets, in the company’s earnings announcement. California BanCorp is the holding company for California Bank of Commerce, N.A. Its operations span major California markets following the completion and integration of a merger in 2024. Management has said the transaction broadened the company’s geographic reach and strengthened its balance sheet. California BanCorp’s 2025 results

The company’s latest quarterly filing identifies it as a national commercial-bank holding company headquartered in San Diego. That filing also provides the broader regulatory and financial context for the dividend decision. California BanCorp’s second-quarter Form 10-Q

What it means for income investors

The increase adds $0.02 per share to each quarterly payment and $0.08 per share to the annualized payout compared with the previous rate. Because the ex-dividend date has passed, buyers acquiring shares after Sept. 21 are not entitled to the associated distribution.

The higher payment lifts prospective income, but California BanCorp does not currently have a multiyear record of consecutive annual dividend growth. Investors tracking dividend consistency will therefore have less history on which to judge the durability of future increases than they would with a long-established dividend grower.
